To celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), Futurpreneur Canada is challenging elected officials to experience first-hand what it takes to be an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs are the backbone of the Canadian economy. They head the small and medium sized enterprises that make up 98% of all businesses in Canada and create almost half of all jobs. These entrepreneurs generate nearly a third of our gross domestic product.

On November 21, 2014 elected officials from mayors to ministers will take time out of their busy days to visit these nation builders at their businesses. Participating elected officials will have the chance to get to know entrepreneurs in their communities and to find out more about what they do and their experiences. These elected leaders make the decisions and create the policies that impact Canadian business owners. Entrepreneurs who participate in the GEW Canada Day in the Life Challenge will provide them with the insight they need to better inform the decision making process that ultimately impacts Canadian businesses.
