Beyond Financing

Futurpreneur Canada’s 2018/2019
Year in Review

“At Futurpreneur Canada, we know that launching a business can be really tough...“

A special letter from our CEO

“We only succeed if you succeed...“ A message from John Risley, O.C., Futurpreneur Canada Chair of the Board

For more than two decades we’ve supported the launch of over 10,000 new businesses in Canada

Fueling the dreams of more than 12,400 young entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurs like Gwen Lim-Brydson who left a job she didn’t enjoy to start motion and still inc.

Or Jonathan Sparrow, whose Manitoba-based Go Oil is Canada’s largest mobile oil change company, servicing fleets from coast to coast.

This is made possible by our strong and enduring partnership with the Government of Canada.

In 2019, announced a five-year funding agreement with Futurpreneur, an important step in continuing to build the entrepreneurial landscape across Canada.

This partnership will allow for more entrepreneurs to succeed, like Marianne Tremblay whose clothing line, Mary & Anna, is made in Canada.

and we provide more than financing

Each business is matched withone of our 3,000 volunteer mentors to provide support during their first two years of entrepreneurship.

Mentors like Juan Navarro, who decided to become a mentor because he wanted to support young entrepreneurs as they turned their business ideas into reality.

Our Growth Accelerator connected 27 successful businesses with experts and mentors to develop their growth plans, expand their networks and gain the knowledge and confidence to take the next big step in their business.

Trailblazers celebrated women entrepreneurs in Vancouver and Montreal, amplifying their stories and talking fearlessly about failure.

667 aspiring entrepreneurs took their first step toward launching through our rock my business plan workshops.

For the first time in northeastern BC, the 2018 ThriveNorth Business Challenge was held in Fort St. John where 14 entrepreneurs pitched their businesses for a chance to win a share of $35,000 in financial support.

And six businesses across Canada got their products in front of 60,000 eager shoppers at the One of a Kind show in Toronto.
