October marks Women’s History Month, a celebration of women’s past and current contributions to Canadian business and the national economy. To coincide with the start of Women’s History Month, the Honourable Rona Ambrose, Minister of Public Works and Government Services and Minister for Status of Women, met with Alia El Banna, owner and CEO of KIWI Choice Inc. and a CYBF entrepreneur.

After joining CYBF in early 2010, Alia launched KIWI Choice, an Ottawa-based company that specializes in the design and manufacture of electronic and solar products to help reduce energy waste. As a result of KIWI’s inception and success, six new job opportunities were created and Alia was nominated for many awards, including Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100.

Congratulations, Alia! This month, we celebrate you and all other female entrepreneurs across Canada!
