We know CYBF’s entrepreneurs are among the best in the world. And now, the rest of the world is seeing just how incredible they are as well.

We are so proud to announce that CYBF entrepreneur Colin Davison of Calgary’s Stealth Acoustical & Emission Control has won the Innovator of the Year award from The Prince’s Youth Business International (YBI). You may remember that Colin had been shortlisted for the award back in June. Colin and his mentor, Robin Sherwood, will travel to Mexico City in September, where Colin will compete against three other finalists for the prestigious YBI Entrepreneur of the Year 2010 award.

Business competitions like this are wonderful opportunities for entrepreneurs to gain media attention, market a business and even make some new business contacts. A quick Google search can find local contests like Vancouver’s Lotus Awards, provincial and national competitions like CYBF’s Chairman’s Awards (stay tuned for more details on our awards coming up in future editions of Entrepeer Weekly!) and international challenges like YBI‘s. While the prize is always a nice perk, these awards offer the possibility to be recognized as a leader in your field.

So throw your hat in the ring and pat yourself on the back for a job well done! Let us know about any competitions you’ve entered so that we can celebrate your achievements as well.

Until next time,

Vivian
