Slowly but surely, a culture of entrepreneurship is building across Canada.
Recent numbers from the BDC, in partnership with the Fondation de l’entrepreneurship, show that 11.2% of Canadians plan to launch their own business at some point in their lives, an increase from 7% last year.
We need to keep this momentum going, and help Canadians realize that entrepreneurship is a rewarding career choice. That’s why movements like Global Entrepreneurship Week Canada (November 15-21, 2010) are so important. They spread the word about the value of entrepreneurs and their support systems through events like the Great Canadian Mentoring Challenge. Local activities and events, like business plan competitions, start-up information seminars, open houses and networking events help drive the spirit of entrepreneurship throughout the community. By hosting or attending a GEW-branded event or activity, you are helping us inspire young people in your neighbourhood and around the country to choose entrepreneurship as a career choice.
What will YOU be doing from November 15-21, 2010? Let us know on Facebook, Twitter or by e-mail, and spread the word about Global Entrepreneurship Week.
Until next time,
