Invenia Founder Wins CYBF National Best Business Award

On June 30th, Winnipeg-based entrepreneur, Matthew Hudson, founder of Invenia Technical Computing Corporation was honoured with the National Best Business Award at the ninth annual Canadian Youth Business Foundation’s Chairman’s Awards.

Matthew received a prize package valued at over $30,000, which includes $20,000 for business expansion* and a paid trip to Nice, France, to join the Canadian delegation at the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit in October. Matthew also received the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to mingle with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at an exclusive reception hosted by Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Governor General David Johnston in Ottawa, on Thursday, June 30.

Matthew was selected from a group of five outstanding finalists who vied for the National Best Business Award. The four finalists were:

  • Best Green Business: Toby Reid, Solegear Bioplastics Inc.
  • Best Female Entrepreneur: Anaïs Guimond, Atlantic Cirque
  • Best Socially-Minded Business, Christine & Vincent Poirier, Momzelle Nursing Clothing
  • Best Newcomer Business: Axel Arvizu and Juan Roman, La Tortilleria
