The Canadian Youth Business Foundation has selected 30 dynamic young Canadian entrepreneurs to form the official Canadian delegation at the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit (G20 YES) in Nice, France on October 31-November 2, 2011. The G20 YES is an annual international summit that brings together dedicated and influential entrepreneurs of the G20 countries. Milun Tesovic is a Canadian delegate.
Why I became an entrepreneur:
I started at an early age with a passion for the online world and the ability to share and connect with individuals. At 14, I opened my first business, hosting websites for other people on my servers and then charging enough to cover expenses and make a profit. This allowed me to learn the ways of the business before I created my first half dozen sites and then promoted them all. Most of them got good traction but one in particular got amazing traction. Today, that website, metrolyrics.com, is the third largest music website in the world with over 48 million unique visitors coming to it every month.
My best moment as an entrepreneur, my success:
The greatest accomplishment was breaking all the 10 million unique visitor marks. Each one is an unbelievable feeling. Apart from that, we were also the first dedicated lyric website to structure a deal with all the majors. We helped negotiate then create an industry that never existed before in the music space.
My next challenge:
Personnel growth is one of the most challenging areas for me. It’s often learned through stumbles for young entrepreneurs with no prior professional experience. As well, managing dozens of people who all look up to you for direction is not only a new pressure but is also a very exciting opportunity for personal growth.
