GEW

Fostering an entrepreneurial culture in Quebec starts with education. Dawson College would like to be part of changing the entrepreneurial landscape of Quebec by tapping in to the creative energy of its students.  The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education is doing this in two ways:

1) Developing an entrepreneurial culture by celebrating existing Quebecois entrepreneurs and inciting the youth to think entrepreneurially: Dawson College EWeek.

2) Creating a business incubator for the creative sector.

We are celebrating entrepreneurship along with the rest of the world to remind students that we all share the same planet and that what they do with their careers may have an impact on this planet.  What better way than to celebrate GEW together.

Dawson College is staging a week of entrepreneurship.  This week is all about creativity, innovation, resources and networking, the early stages of starting a new enterprise whether a social, art or business project. Students will be inspired by hearing and meeting people who’ve been through it all speak about their experiences. There is something for everybody:

  • Information Kiosks – Entrepreneurship Support Organizations
  • High profile guest speakers and panel discussions (patent agents, wild and crazy entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, social entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs, educators, creatives)
  • Workshops – Funding, Starting a Tech Business, Networking etc.
  • Contests – Dawson’s Den, The OneRedPaperClip contest, Speed-date and entrepreneur and much more
  • Montreal NewTech night – a networking evening in which five companies pitch their products or service in five minutes with a five minute Q&A.
  • Opportunities for networking with local entrepreneurs, investors and people with great ideas
  • Surprises

We are looking forward to sharing the dynamism and generosity of entrepreneurial community in Montreal.
