Picture yourself as a stock. The more useful knowledge you have, the higher your value rises. I’m a firm believer that you are not just a person running your business, you ARE your business. Entrepreneurs tend to focus on the bricks and mortars of their empires, and not so much on their “personality assets.” Many of your clients are working with you instead of your business.
Take the time to attend events, random gatherings and meet with your clients socially. The more “REAL” you are with your clients, the more they will be inclined to recommend you and continue a lasting relationship. In addition, learn as much as you can. Conferences, workshops and networking events all help to build your value so take advantage of those opportunities to grow.
Lastly, the best advice I can give you is to take time for you. Enjoy a morning at a coffee shop to just revel in the atmosphere and get away from your desk from time to time – just promise me you will never stop enjoying the adventure of being an entrepreneur!
