National Volunteer Week

Mentors and volunteers with the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) drive the success of many of Canada’s best and brightest young entrepreneurs! This week (April 15-21st) is National Volunteer Week 2012 and CYBF is celebrating and recognizing the tireless efforts of our valued mentors and volunteers. We appreciate your investment in the success of our young entrepreneurs and your dedication to creating and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship. In addition, we thank all of you who donate your time as loan review committee members, board members, advisors, volunteer editors and experts with CYBF’s Mentor Advisory Panel.

Cool facts about CYBF’s mentors:

  • Entrepreneurs in CYBF’s programs are hand-matched with experienced mentors that provide them with guidance, advice and even contacts for their first two years in business.
  • CYBF currently has 1,200 active mentors across Canada. Our mentors are tremendously diverse in their professional experience, skills, perspectives and ages.
  • In total, CYBF’s mentors spend around 60,000 hours a year helping put young entrepreneurs on the path to success.
  • Many times, CYBF entrepreneurs indicate that even in the first hour of meeting with their mentors, they saved hundreds of dollars by asking questions that helped them streamline processes and avoid potentially costly mistakes.

CYBF’s mentors and volunteers turn their passion for entrepreneurship into action, and have an outstanding impact on the young entrepreneurs, on their communities and on our country’s economy.

Thank you CYBF mentors and volunteers for your energy, positivity and dedication, and for helping to foster youth entrepreneurship in Canada!
