In December 2019, the ThriveNorth program successfully completed its five-year mandate. Managed by Futurpreneur Canada, the program helped young entrepreneurs in Northern B.C. launch and grow their businesses by connecting them with resources, financing and mentorship.
Dave McKeever has been employed at the Northwest Community College in various capacities for nearly 20 years, most recently as the Business Administration Program Coordinator and Instructor. Prior to his more recent experience in education, Dave worked in the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) industry at various levels including national safety and training initiatives.
In addition to a Master of Education degree (M.Ed.), Dave has a number of industry trade certifications and is the recipient of industry management and writing awards. He has sat on numerous committees and organizations over the years including Chair of the Northwest Community College (NWCC) Education Council, NWCC Board of Governors, Toastmasters International, Chamber of Commerce, and a Volunteer Fire Department. Dave lives in Prince Rupert, British Columbia with his partner and two young children with whom he can now be found spending much of his free time.
In June, Dave hosted ThriveNorth’s first Peer Mentoring Circle in Prince Rupert, and will be running all future Peer Mentoring Circle’s for 2015. We are really pleased to be working with Dave!
Northwest Community College is also launching an Entrepreneurship Certificate in conjunction with Prince Rupert High School and Community Futures.
Stay tuned for future ThriveNorth events hosted by Dave here.
