The only competition I’ve ever won was my 6th grade regional science fair. Although, that was an exciting time for me as a youngster, I can’t imagine what it would be like to win $100,000 business grant, new technology, mentoring, and national coverage in the Globe and Mail for my business. Just think of all the ways that large grant could change your business, or imagine how many emails, phone calls, and increased website traffic you’d see after being crowned the 2015 Small Business Challenge finalist. Not only would other news outlets be highly motivated to feature your business, but your customer base would instantly blossom seemingly overnight. These are exciting opportunities every entrepreneur dreams of.

I wish I could share every chat, phone call, or email I’ve exchanged with the finalists, semi-finalists, and regional winners over the years, and how excited they are to have won, and the helpful business boost the Small Business Challenge competition awarded them. Instead of me speaking for these entrepreneurs, I’ll let all four of our finalists share their own experiences with the Small Business Challenge in our ‘Where Are They Now’ video.

Stay tuned, as we’ll be releasing a full ‘Where Are They Now’ update for each finalist in the coming weeks. If you have a favourite favourite finalist, or have a contest success story that is dear to you, share it in the comments section below.
