In December 2019, the ThriveNorth program successfully completed its five-year mandate. Managed by Futurpreneur Canada, the program helped young entrepreneurs in Northern B.C. launch and grow their businesses by connecting them with resources, financing and mentorship.
The Futurpreneur Canada Action Entrepreneurship Canadian Summit presented by Meridian Credit Union is hosted every year in Toronto. The two-day event happening on May 30-31st brings together more than 300 young entrepreneurs and leaders from across the country for thought-provoking workshops, networking opportunities and engaging speakers such as Greg Taylor, Co-Founder of Steam Whistle Brewing, and Herschel Segal, Founder of Le Chateau and Co-Founder of DAVIDsTEA.
But how on earth do you get yourself to Toronto? Futurpreneur Canada has teamed up with partners across the country to offer travel bursaries to select entrepreneurs to help cover their cost of travel to the 2016 Action Entrepreneurship Canadian Summit. Last year we sent multiple entrepreneurs from the Northwest region of British Columbia. Here are what two of the attendees had to say:
“The Action Entrepreneurship Canadian Summit in Toronto last year was a great opportunity to meet and collaborate with some of Canada’s best and brightest young entrepreneurs, mentors and business leaders. It was not only a great networking opportunity, but an educational and inspirational experience as well.” – Aaron Whitfield, Aaron Whitfield Photography (Terrace, British Columbia)
“One of the highlights to my 2015 year. I made many amazing connections, learned valuable skills for growing my business and got access to new mentors, new friends from around the country and new potential business partners “ – Tyler Meers, Tyler Meers Photography (Prince Rupert, British Columbia)
