G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance Supporting International Opportunities for Canada’s Young Entrepreneurs

Futurpreneur Canada is proud to be a founding member of the G20 YEA, a global network of more than 500,000 young entrepreneurs and the organizations that support them. In advance of every G20 Leaders’ Summit, the G20 YEA brings together hundreds of the world’s top young entrepreneurs to advance youth entrepreneurship as a driver of economic growth, innovation and social change.

The Summit is an important opportunity for young entrepreneurs to become part of a network of champions for youth entrepreneurship, advising on issues of importance, sharing ideas and proposing solutions. It is also a critical opportunity for young entrepreneurs to advance their businesses, make international connections and explore international growth.

G20 YEA Delegate Spotlight: Harold Dumur, Ova

Harold Dumur is the owner of Ova, a company which leverages virtual and augmented reality to create an interactive training platform for clients in a wide range of industries. Eager for international opportunities, Harold went to the G20 YEA Summit in Beijing to make connections and explore the growing market for artificial intelligence in China, participating in B2B meetings and pitching his idea to investors and panelists. ‘China was amazing. I won the G20 YEA pitch competition and because of that, we are in due diligence with a venture capitalist in China.’

G20 YEA Delegate Spotlight: Shingai Manjengwa, Fireside Analytics Inc.

“The G20 YEA offers a unique opportunity for young people to contribute to global policy on important issues like, education, entrepreneurship and technology. Ahead of the summit, delegates were briefed on Canadian policy initiatives and global trends and, in Germany, we were addressed by government officials and industry leaders.

The G20 YEA Summit was also about networking and business development. My company Fireside Analytics is a Toronto based edtech company that provides data analytics services. Africa was on the agenda at the G20 YEA summit and by special invitation, a delegation of young entrepreneurs from Nigeria joined us in Berlin. Networking with this group of inspiring entrepreneurs led to my company’s partnership with WAVE Academies (West Africa Vocational Education), a social enterprise based in Nigeria. We are using data analytics models to support WAVE in their efforts to find local job placements for young people in West Africa.

It was a great honor to represent Canada at the G20 YEA in Germany and I am excited to be part of this great community of entrepreneurs.”
