A new partnership between the Canadian Youth Business Foundation and Community Futures Grande Prairie & region
Joining together to support youth entrepreneurship
Grande Prairie, Alberta, June 27, 2012 – The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with Community Futures Grande Prairie and Region. A special event to launch this partnership will be held on June 28, 2012 at the Podollan Inn & Spa in Grand Prairie.
Community Futures Grande Prairie & Region is a non-profit community organization engaged in helping to develop and implement community-based economic development strategies. They are dedicated to strengthening both local entrepreneurs and the community’s economy as a whole. Community Futures organizations are entrepreneurial development centres that provide one-on-one business training to assist individuals who are interested in self-employment or in expanding their business.
“Community Futures Grande Prairie & Region is committed to helping local entrepreneurs realize their business dreams. That is why we are so excited to be partnering with CYBF, to assist in helping young entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses,” said Holly Sogren, Executive Director, Community Futures Grande Prairie and Region. “We recognize how important it is to get started on the right foot and CYBF and its resources, such as financing and mentorship match-ups, will go a long way in helping those clients be successful! This partnership is yet another tool in our business assistance toolkit.”
As Canada’s ‘go to’ place for youth entrepreneurship, CYBF is dedicated to helping our nation’s economic development, one young entrepreneur at a time. Working with youth between the ages of 18-34, this national organization looks at character, not collateral when providing pre-launch coaching, business assistance, start-up financing and mentoring. Through these resources, CYBF helps young people launch and sustain successful entrepreneurial businesses. CYBF is able to deliver these programs across the country through important community partnerships with organizations such as Community Futures Grande Prairie & Region.
“CYBF strongly believes that the future of a vibrant and healthy business community in rural Alberta relies on youth entrepreneurs. We are delighted to have Community Futures of Grand Prairie Region becoming our valued Community Partner, said Katarina Vasiljevic-Galic, Director Alberta, CYBF. “Rural Alberta is home to many diversified entrepreneurial innovations – and CYBF in partnership with Community Futures of Grande Prairie and Region is here to provide full support.”
