An entrepreneurial spirit, Cindy has had unique opportunities over her business development career in the private and public sectors at the local, national and international levels, climbing the ranks in a number of organizations in Canada and the United States. Her achievements have included building an annual $10 million territory from the ground up, achieving a doubled annual billing rate in only a few months, and consistently exceeding business development expectations.
Cindy is currently one of three Co-Founders and COO at Trivenity Corporation. Based in Winnipeg, Trivenity offers corporate development and corporate finance with a focus on SMEs looking for international markets as well as international companies seeking investment opportunities and partnerships in Canada. She also co-founded Maira Group Inc. with her husband Dr. Andrew Goertzen, which specializes in medical imaging consulting and is a majority owned Métis business.
Cindy generously shares her business development skills when she volunteers. In addition to sitting on the board of Futurpreneur Canada and supporting the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance, she has also volunteered with the Small Business Summit of Winnipeg, fundraising for Brian Bowman’s successful mayoral campaign, the Health Sciences Centre Foundation, the Children’s Hospital of Winnipeg and Ronald McDonald House Manitoba. As a high school and university student, Cindy was a member of the Youth Parliament of Manitoba and served in many roles including Premier.
A member of the Manitoba Francophone and Métis communities, Cindy received her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Political Studies in 1997 from the University of Manitoba. Since graduating from university she has supported her husband’s pursuit of a career in Medical Physics with a subspecialty in PET Imaging. As a result, they have lived in Winnipeg, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, and Montreal. Cindy has also extensively travelled back and forth to Istanbul for a year for work. She currently lives in Winnipeg with her husband, Dr. Goertzen, who works in the Health Sciences Centre’s PET/CT Imaging Centre and is an Associate Professor at the University of Manitoba in the Department of Radiology and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy. She enjoys traveling for both work and pleasure, as it compliments her passion to constantly meet new people from around the world.
