Senior Vice President, Programs and Business Development
Mitchell joined Futurpreneur Canada in 2012 because he welcomed the opportunity to make a difference in the Canadian economy. “Entrepreneurship is the backbone of any strong economy. It creates diversity, opportunity, and most importantly resilience to economic issues that Canada may face. Over the last several years, as many of the world’s economies have struggled, ours hasn’t, and a part of the reason is the strong entrepreneurial culture we have,” he explained.
Prior to joining Futurpreneur Canada, Mitchell spent five years at Sears Canada in various senior roles, the most recent being Divisional Vice President Sales and Operations for the Direct Business where he was responsible for the over 1,800 independent and corporate run catalogue locations across Canada. Additionally, he created the Sears Commercial and Incentives division, Sears Canada wholesale and B2B arm.
Previous to Sears, Mitchell worked at Intria Items Inc. holding various roles focussed on Strategy and New Product Development and spent the first two years after his MBA in Corporate and Investment Banking.
