Nita Tandon
Dalcini Inc.

In 2010, Nita stepped away from her career as a pharmaceutical and biotech professional and stepped into her new role of mother. After realizing the need for durable, easy to clean and chemical-free food containers, Nita launched DALCINI™ Stainless housewares in 2015; a safe, simple, sustainable solution, which garnered Nita the coveted Startup Award at the 2016 Mompreneur Awards. Nita has also earned a spot in the Top 25 Female owned Venture in Canada, in 2018. Over the last ten years, Nita has been an outspoken advocate and trusted resource on topics of sustainability, health, toxic chemicals, microplastics, and DIY home and wellness alternatives. Nita resides with her family in Ottawa. DALCINI™ Stainless has been featured on The Marilyn Denis, CTV News, Eco Parent magazine and the 2019 MTV Movie Awards.


Dr Shayne Young
Active Health Institute

A graduate of both Lakehead University and the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, Dr. Shayne Young was born and raised in Marathon, Northwestern Ontario where he was involved with many different types of sports and outdoor activities. His passion for both has continued into his professional career where prevention and treatment of sport injuries, particularly strength related sports, plays a significant role. Dr. Young incorporates a variety of different modalities in his treatments and finds that active rehabilitation and exercise, as well as patient education, play a key role in his treatments. Husband to Shannon and father of two young boys, Declan and Conall, Dr. Young can be found around Ottawa at local gyms, golf courses, mountain biking trails and ski hills. He looks forward to providing and integrating effective manual chiropractic techniques to help his patients reach their fullest potential.

Maria Rasouli
Escape Bicycle Tours and Rentals

Maria Rasouli founded Escape Tours and Rentals in 2015 to fulfill her dream of promoting Canada’s capital region as a worldwide cycling destination. Her company offers daily guided sightseeing bike tours and rentals to tourists in Ottawa and is rated #1 for Ottawa Outdoor Activities on TripAdvisor. She strives to promote the green and beautiful side of Ottawa to people from all over the world and encourages everyone to experience the outdoors in the national region. With hundreds of tourists coming through her business every year, she is truly an ambassador of Canada’s capital. Maria was also the winner of Immigrant Entrepreneurship Award in 2015 by the City of Ottawa. Escape Tours and Rentals was the winner of Ottawa Tourism Company of the Year Award in 2016 and the New Partnership of the Year Award in 2018. Maria and Escape have been featured in The New York Times travel section, the Guardian, Flight network, WestJet Magazine, CBC radio and TV and many other international travel blogs and magazines.

Liz Mok
Moo Shu Ice Cream

Liz Mok is the creator and owner of Moo Shu Ice Cream. With the help of her partner, she started selling homemade ice cream at the Lansdowne Farmer's Market in the summer of 2015. Since then, her market stall has grown to a popular brick-and-mortar store operated by a team of 15 people. Moo Shu is known for its eclectic mix of ice cream flavours, all made from scratch with as-local-as possible ingredients. Inspirations for these ice creams include seasonal ingredients, flavours of a childhood lived in Hong Kong, current events, and popular culture. Liz and her team are driven by a value of kindness to people and the environment, and a commitment to engage with their community.
