Being the last day of March and March being Fraud Awareness Month, I thought it would be appropriate to wrap it up with a post about Fraud Awareness.

Financial Consumer Agency of Canada has some great tips. Although their suggestions may seem like common sense, many business owners may be too busy to check their statements over with a fine tooth comb. It is easy to overlook unauthorized transaction especially if the fraud activity has been occurring on regular or consistent basis.

With new productivity websites providing “one stop shop” for managing finances, we may forget to think about liability and security issues considering how efficient the sites may be. Before signing up and sharing your passwords, consider “your contract” (which you sign when you click, I AGREE, online) with your financial institution as most contracts stipulate that you cannot share your password with anyone.
